
Welcome back. I made a quick video to show you how I make kombucha from elderberry syrup, which happens to be one of my favorite kombucha flavors.
I start by making the syrup, which is something I always have in the fridge in the colder months because it has so many health benefits, especially for this time of year. I like to add raw honey, and usually wait to do so until after the liquid has been taken off the heat, but you could also use sugar (to taste) if you want a sweeter flavor for your kombucha. We prefer our kombucha to be less sweet. Almost beer like, even.
When you’re ready to bottle, just fill with kombucha up to the base of the neck of your bottles, and then top each one off with an ounce or two of the elderberry syrup. Set the bottles aside for a week or two, check in on them every couple of days, and then store in the fridge until you’re ready to drink.
This couldn’t be more simple, and it’s a great way to get the benefits of kombucha AND elderberry syrup in one, and we personally love the flavor. It’s probably my favorite. I hope you enjoy it too. Here’s the video:
